Decorating Offices: Great Examples
Creating a nice study area doesn't mean you have to have a separate room, just a separate area.
A simple table coming off the wall, nicely placed in conjunction to other seating in the vicinity, says "office" without saying a word.
If you have a study area that is not a separate room, be sure to keep the area neat and clean and orderly. You don't want a ton of papers and files
laying around. So make sure you have created adequate storage nearby to keep things out of sight.
Neatness is a description that easily comes to mind in this example. Everything is in its proper place - out of sight. Even the computer monitor is
discreetly mounted on the wall, leaving the desk area free.
The biggest decorating faux pas for the home office is clutter. Manage that and you will do very well. As more and more people become entrepreneurs and work
is outsourced to independents, you'll see home offices will continue to rise and flourish.
Whether it is visible or not, you'll want to make sure you have planned well, not just for the immediate, but for future growth. Think about bookshelves,
built-ins, placed nearby. Plan for file folders - they always seem to magnify. Then there is the inevitable phone, fax, scanner, printer, desktop or laptop.
Poor planning and failure to plan for the future needs of a start-up business are the most common mistakes people make when decorating a home office.
