Christmas Decorating Ideas: Easy and Quick Holiday Decorations
You'd be amazed at the power of just a few tea candles. Here two rows of candles in small matching holders just reaches out and grabs your attention. Never leave
candles unattended. Use them wisely and safely. But do use them for your decorating as they are absolutely beautiful. You can buy tea candles at most home
decorating stores, bed and bath stores, department stores, and online too.
This tall wooden candlestick makes an excellent decoration for your hearth. Put one on each side for a spectacular addition to your focal point.
Whether you use a candle on top or not, decorate it with additional foliage or tree ornaments, ribbon or other decorations.
Not all Christmas decorations need to be red or green. Consider these yellow poinsettias that really stand out and make the room look very festive. Any color will
do for the room, so long as it blends with the other colors in the room. Colors can be analogous, complementary or split-complementary. Even tone-on-tone schemes
are beautiful and very elegant.
Four Additional Christmas Ideas
- Look for ways to make a stronger impact in your Christmas holiday decorating. For greatest impact, still to one color scheme, including everything: lights, wrapping
paper, ribbons and so forth. Choose a palette that is as flexible and you can, incorporating many colors, so that each year you can vary it slightly but continue
to reuse the same decorations.
- Buy wired ribbon (a little more expensive, but worth it) which you can shape. It attaches easily to branches. Make large bows to fill in gaps. You'll easily
find wired ribbon at arts and crafts stores, fabric stores and specialty floral shops.
- Don't limit yourself to multi-colored, traditional lights or even all white lights. If you search, you should be able to find monochromatic strands of lights in
just about any color you want. Try an all-gold or all-amber string.
- The traditional top ornament is an angle or star, which reminds us of the birth of Jesus Christ. I prefer to remember the baby Jesus. But one can also use
other ornaments, such as a large bow or several ornaments fastened together.
