Choosing a Green Fireplace
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know,
it's blue, isn't it? Well, I'm not talking about the color of the surround. I'm talking about the inner workings of this type of fireplace and how it will impact
the environment.
The green fireplace does not need a chimney. It does not need wood or gas or a hook up. There is nothing to burn, so no smoke, ash or messiness. There will be no
harmful emissions, either for people or to the environment.
So how does this green fireplace work, you ask. Well, it burns denatured alcohol. This is a readily available fuel and comes from beets, corn or sugarcane, which are
resources that are in good supply.
You can retrofit your current fireplace or have the unit built into a new one. And if you're a renter, you can finally have a fireplace in your apartment, because it
requires literally nothing. You don't need a flue, pipes or the mess that is usually associated with a traditional fireplace. You can have an actual fire too.
You can get continuous burning, up to 14 hours. It will heat a 20x20 room in about 20 minutes. How's that for 20/20? All models come with a one year warranty and
are UL-approved.
Best of all, you can place the fireplace any where you want in the room, so depending on the usage of the room or the configuration and the furniture you have, you
have much more flexibility in finding the perfect placement.
